#Travel: Kerala/Karnataka Road Trip
With WFH and no office to go, we made good use of the time to make some long-pending road trip. Below is the running commentary of the road trip.
Btw, did you know Google Maps does not allow more than 10 places in one trip?
Nov 21: Start from Pune to Dandeli
Nov 21–24 — Dandeli (Karnataka)
Stay: Jungle Lodges Resort, Old Magazine House (only for birding)
Highlights: River rafting, jungle safari & bird watching
Notes: Good resort, didn't spot tiger(Spotted Gaur, Jackal, wild boar, etc.), river rafting was good, spotted good birds at ‘Old Magazine House’
Nov 25- Dec 2: Bangalore
Visit relatives & attend a marriage.
Dec 03–09: Madikeri, Coorg
Stay: Homestay in the city (Wenge House), B B Homestay (in a coffee estate)
Highlights: Visit my childhood home, stay in coffee estate, Tadiandamol trek
Dec 09–16 : Udupi, Kodachadri Trek, Jog falls
Stay: Own home, Mayura Resort (Jog)
Highlights: Visit relatives, see the amazing Jog falls (though there wasn't much water), trek Kodachadri hills
Dec 17–20 — Bekal (Kerala)
Stay: Bekal Fort Heritage Homestay
Highlights: Bekal fort, beach, Posadigumpe sunrise point(short trek), Ranipuram trek
Dec 20–27— Kavvayi Islands (Kerala)
Stay: Kavvayi Riviera Homestay
Highlights: Amazing homestay by the backwaters, beach walks, kayaking, Kanji Hut fish
Dec 27–30 — Thrissur/Kannur
Stay: Kannur(Homestay), Thrissur(Park Residency hotel), Thrissur(Neelambari Ecotourism resort- a boutique resort)
Highlights: Temple, backwater boating, ayurvedic massage, relax
Dec 30-Jan 01 — Cochin
Stay: Fragrant Nature
Highlights: Fort Kochi (Chinese fishing nets and walk by the beach), Amazing food at Arippa
Jan 01–04: Varkala
Stay: Baycliff Homestay
Highlights: Beautiful homestay by the beach, surfing, beach, good restaurants
Jan 04–06: Kanyakumari
Stay: Hotel Tamilnadu (govt)
Highlights: Southern tip of India, sunset, sunrise, beach
Jan 07–16- Munnar
Stay: Tall Trees Resorts, Mistletoe Homestay
Highlights: Amazing weather, tea plantations, scenic beauty everywhere
