Out of the many homestays we have stayed in across the globe, Mistletoe in Munnar is clearly the best so far.

It has got it all — amazing views, great hosts, unbelievable food, ambiance, spacious, arty, etc. I can go on and on.

Mistletoe is a seven-room boutique homestay away from the hustle-bustle of Munnar city. It is a perfect mix of a non-commercial family-run homestay, yet it is artfully designed and professionally managed.

View — Scenic Munnar Hills

Watch the misty mountains from your balcony and bedroom as you enjoy the morning tea or evening drink.

You can also enjoy the same view from the spacious dining area, which was also my work area during the weekdays.

Food — Homemade Kerala Delicacies

The home-cooked food by Joe and Jeena (and their mom) is beyond awesome! Every morning started with an elaborate Kerala breakfast and a local sweet (like Jackfruit idli), fruit platter, juice, etc. They also have an option to prepare wood-fired pizzas.

Puttu, Kadla curry, Jackfruit idli, steamed banana
Fish fry, Veg mappas, Sambar, Rice
More food…
Candlelight dinner

Hosts — Joe & Jeena

Joe and Jenna staying with their two kids, stay next door. The architecture ensures that the guests and hosts have independent spaces.

Joe is very knowledgeable in many areas, a very hands-on man, & most importantly a foodie. I had a great time chatting with him on different topics. On the other hand, Jeena is silent & always working on keeping the premises neat and tidy. Joe also runs a cardamon plantation, and his sister has a large estate with all kinds of fruits and spices.
